Sr. Coach

Coach Baxter, hailing from San Diego, embarked on his hockey journey as a player, starting in the squirt house league at UTC, where his passion for the game took root. His progression in playing included notable achievements:


House league B/A: 3 State Championship appearances.

AA: 1 State Championship appearance.

AAA: Metropolitan Junior Hockey League (MJHL) with the Hudson Valley Eagles.

NCAA Div III: University at Albany, NY.

Transitioning into coaching, Coach Baxter has dedicated 8 seasons (and counting) to the Oilers Hockey Club. His coaching philosophy centers around fostering bench depth, aiming to develop each player individually. Coach Baxter adopts a custom-tailored approach that involves understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each player while placing significant emphasis on team systems and fundamental skills. Renowned for preparing players for the next level, Coach Baxter values not only individual fundamentals but also the hockey IQ and effective teamwork that elevate players to excel at advanced levels. His commitment to player development has left a lasting impact on the Oilers Hockey Club organization.
