Coach Baxter, hailing from San Diego, embarked on his hockey journey as a player, starting in the squirt house league at UTC, where his passion for the game took root. His progression in playing included notable achievements:

House league B/A: 3 State Championship appearances.

AA: 1 State Championship appearance.

AAA: Metropolitan Junior Hockey League (MJHL) with the Hudson Valley Eagles.

NCAA Div III: University at Albany, NY.

Transitioning into coaching, Coach Baxter has dedicated 8 seasons (and counting) to the Oilers Hockey Club. His coaching philosophy centers around fostering bench depth, aiming to develop each player individually.
